ICD runs a wide variety of events therefore the staff involved can vary greatly. Depending on the event ICD will occasionally hire contract individuals with the necessary experience or qualifications to ensure safety at a program, for example wilderness guides to facilitate our backcountry programs. Regardless of the type of event are event our staff and or volunteers live with or have been specifically trained on the nuances of diabetes management. We also have the pleasure of working with hospital teams, nurses, dietitians, physicians and/or community partners. Very often programs are made possible by passionate volunteers who donate their time and expertise to support our mission, vision and values.
